چکیده

The radiant time series method is a new method for performing design cooling load calculations, derived from the heat balance method. It effectively replaces all other simplified (non-heat-balance) methods such as the cool#zg load temperature difference~solar cooling load~cooling load factor method (CLTD/SCL/CLF), the total equivalent temperature difference~time averaging method (TETD/TA), and the transfer[unction method (TFM). The radiant time series method relies on a 24-term response factor series to compute conductive heat gain, and it relies on a 24-term "radiant time series" to convert instantaneous radiant heat gain to cooling loads. This paper describes the radiant time series method and the generation of the response factors and the radiant time series coefficients and gives a brief comparison to the heat balance method.

Experimental Results for Heat Gain and Radiant/Convective Split from Equipment in Buildings

Measurement of the heat loss from equipment in buildings is necessary in order to make accurate assessments of its impact on cooling loads. Recent advances in the design of buildings and improvement of the thermal characteristics of insulation materials and building envelope systems have significantly reduced the cooling load from external sources; however, the addition of various types of offi...

Nonlinear Analysis of a Power Amplifier inc C Band and Load Pull Technique Calculation USING VOLTERRA SERIES

In recent years, nonlinear circuit analysis techniques have been extensively investigated. One of the most important reasons is the application development of solid-state devices at microwave frequencies. Different methods have been used to analysis large signal behavior of these devices. In this paper load-pull curves (one of design requirement) are obtained using Volterra series. The main adv...

A Coupled Airflow-and-Energy Simulation Program for Indoor Thermal Environment Studies (RP-927)

Design of a thermally comfortable indoor environment requires detailed information about distribution of air velocity, air temperature, relative humidity, and mean radiant temperature and about heating/cooling load in a space. This research has developed a coupled airflow-and-energy simulation program to calculate simultaneously the distributions of indoor airflow and thermal comfort and heatin...

Total Utility Demand Prediction Based on Probabilistically Generated Behaviroal Schedules of Actural Inhabitants

This paper describes a new methodology in calculating accurately the time series utility loads (energy, power, city water, hot water, etc.) in a dwelling. This calculation takes into account the behavioral variations of the dwelling inhabitants. The proposed method contains a procedure for cooling load calculations based on a series of Monte Carlo simulations where the HVAC on/off state and the...
